Rhinestone and Axiom Partner to Unite Ethereum’s UX

As the crypto industry scales, it will be impossible to service the demand with a single global execution environment. This has motivated Ethereum’s horizontal scaling through a rollup-centric roadmap. However, this fragments assets and data across rollups. Rhinestone aims to solve this with Omni Account, an intent-powered system that chain-abstracts any smart account or smart EOA.
Being able to unify and instantly spend funds across any chain is only one part of the problem. Although EOAs possess the ability to share the same key across all chains, smart accounts require keys to be manually synced. This introduces a major challenge for users. It means any updates to smart wallet configs (e.g., the signer) must be replayed on each rollup, creating an operational burden and risking fragmentation of configurations across chains. As Ethereum scales, the job of managing and recovering keys becomes increasingly more challenging.
The problem stems from the lack of a single source of truth for managing keys and configurations. Axiom’s keystore solves this by providing one central location that allows users to recover, rotate, and synchronize their keys across all rollups seamlessly.
Today, we’re announcing the Axiom Keystore Validator for all ERC-7579 smart accounts.
At Rhinestone, we provide infrastructure and tooling for chain-abstracted smart accounts, designed to empower developers to build self-custodial Web3 applications with uncompromising UX. The Axiom keystore is a special-purpose ZK rollup that provides a single place to manage signing data for smart accounts across numerous rollups. Acting as a unified repository for key management, it allows users to seamlessly maintain and update their keys.
This partnership delivers three core benefits to the broader wallet ecosystem:
The integration of Axiom’s keystore technology with Rhinestone’s Omni Account unlocks powerful capabilities. The vision behind Omni Account is to enable an account stack that is truly chain abstracted and delivers best-in-class UX, without compromising on the trustlessness and composability of the existing smart account stack. The Axiom Keystore provides a scalable and trustless means to sync module config state across chains, allowing for more than just balance unification and instant crosschain execution. We’re initially utilizing Axiom to offer a chain abstracted passkey set up. In the future, the same technology can be used to power other chain abstracted wallet features, such as ZK Email recovery, session keys, security policies — anything that needs to be united across chains for the best-in-class user experience.
The Axiom Keystore’s mission to unlock scalable and trustless solutions to Ethereum’s fragmented ecosystem makes them the ideal partner for offering the ultimate smart account backend infra for chain abstracted wallets and applications. “We’re excited to partner with Rhinestone to bring trust-minimized key management across rollups to wallets across the Ethereum ecosystem by integrating the Axiom keystore into Omni Account.” said Yi Sun, co-founder at Axiom.
Our shared vision is to drive mass adoption of a united Ethereum. This partnership lays the foundation for a more interconnected wallet infrastructure across Ethereum’s L2’s.
